Levi Tafari is an internationally revered dub poet, who has been entertaining and inspiring audiences for over 30 years.
Born and raised in the city of Liverpool (UK) by Jamaican parents, Levi is a ‘voice of the people’, who identifies as an Urban Griot - a traditional consciousness-raiser, storyteller and political agitator.
In his long and illustrious career, he has performed in dozens of countries, been part of successful musical projects, published numerous books, appeared in many television programmes, written scripts for theatre and was even Writer in Residence at Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic).
An important element of Levi’s work is visiting schools, colleges and universities to host creative writing workshops. His hope is to inspire a new generation of performance poets.
