Founding member of legendary rocksteady group, The Jamaicans, I Kong began his musical career over 50 years ago.
The nephew of influential music producer & hit-maker, Leslie Kong, I Kong recorded his first solo single for Tommy Cowan's Top Cat label in the early 70s, under the name of Ricky Storm. After the hit single ‘Ghetto Cry’, I Kong released his debut album, ‘The Way It Is’ in 1978.
Disillusioned with the music business, I Kong spent many years away from the limelight. Fortunately for his fans, he returned to recording and performing, and in 2015 released the album ‘A Little Walk’. His most recent album, ‘Pass It On’ was released in 2016.
I Kong currently tours the UK & Europe with Swiss 9-piece, Najavibes.
